There will be many lesson that this pie can be used for, like adding and subtracting. For this lesson we will simply reteach what fractions are and how to add them. Go over the vocab and review what each word means. Give each group a few mins to practice with their flash cards. Then move on to the activity. 3. This is a great lesson! I agree with Katie as well, your exit ticket was awesome. Fractions are usually pretty hard for kids to learn but with the way you planned and presented your lesson plan, they will not have any trouble.

  4. Bell work is a great to start the class. Since you have them working in groups, this will allow them to discuss fractions together. If one student doesn't understand, maybe another student will be able to help them out. Having the 3D pie to go with the lesson will be a great manipulative to have for students to have better understanding about fractions. I also like ending lessons with exit tickets with Kahoot. It's a great way to make sure for student understanding.

  5. Great lesson. The bell work really caught my eye because you were the only one that included it into your lesson plan. The 3D pie is a great thing to have in the classroom to really make sure understanding would be effective. Great job

  6. I am a substitute teacher so the fact that you broke your lesson plan down minute by minute really does help the substitute to know exactly how to navigate through the day. As a substitute I can truly appreciate this in a deeper way. There are so many different lesson plans we have to navigate through from classroom to classroom and the more detailed ones really make the days run more smoothly.

  7. Your lesson plan is very easy to follow and organized. I like that you had bell work and then that you broke it up in times.
