3D Printing

3-D printing was an absolute turn of the century invention. Not only has 3-D printing become a large part of the medical world it is being implemented in all aspects of life. Believe it or not 3-D printing has actually been around since the 80s. It has just grown and improved over the years. 3-D printing is much like a regular ink printer but instead of using ink and being flat on a piece of paper, it prints 3-D technology with certain kinds of materials that are rather sturdy. Today in the medical field 3-D printing is used for huge things like re-creating a human organ! This is one of the reasons 3-D printing is so vital in the classroom. Kids today that are learning this technology in the classroom will be able to do big great things in the world. This is a new way of teaching technology and it’s going to be around for a while. When I was a child the most technology we had was an educational program on an old desktop computer that had dial-up Internet. 3-D printing is a trend that we should all follow and try and learn! For some very interesting facts on 3-D printing visit the Smithsonian 3-D digitation site. You will be absolutely amazed at the extent of 3-D printing. It has a way of bringing history to life in a way that we could’ve never imagined.

  1. 3-D technology has also become a dominant presence in many classrooms. I think that this is helpful to the teachers and students both if they have access to the equipment. Teachers can use the printer to create hands-on lessons or even tools to help their students learn. One of the great things about this technology is that it can be used in all subjects whether it is math, art, or reading. On the other hand, students are exposed to other ways of learning and new experiences. They learn through the hands-on activities provided by their teachers, but if they are allowed the chance to use the printer, then their minds will grow even more!
